Chapter 4
The Illusions of the Ego
Inspiration is the opposite of fatigue. "To be fatigued is to be dis-spirited, but to be inspired is to be in the spirit. To be ego-centric is to be dis-spirited, but to be self centered in the right sense is to be inspired or in spirit." "Do not embark on useless journeys, because they are indeed in vain. The ego may desire them ,but spirit cannot embark on them because it is forever unwilling to depart from its Foundation." Repeating the crucifixion is simply re-enacting the separation...leading only to death to have it be done over again. "Such repetitions are endless until they are voluntarily given up."
Lesson 22
"What I see is a form of vengeance."
This was a weird one for me. Apparently, we have attack thoughts about the world as a form of defense, because the world seems to be hostile and full of fear. So what we see is a form of vengeance for our own attack thoughts, and it creates a cycle.
